My practice is an appreciation of the ephemeral things life consists of. It is meant To be a contrast from the culture around us that is saturated by disposable imagery and consumption. It makes more sense in my world to tie in with the natural glorious cycles this world already contains, and share that inspiration with you.
I find it goes against my nature to contantly create content and consume myself doing so, instead ive opted to spend the time i have focused on the creation of things i want to create. This realization has made me anchor my work in the value of natures inspirations, its one of the main reasons i choose solstices, equinox, or the perihelion as my deadline for project release.
I sincerely hope this ideal is reflected in the materials and effort put into my releases. My work focuses on exploring fragments of differing themes but all under the duality of the human physical and emotional existence. I seek to create stories and images that withstand the fleeting. It is my hope that my work forces the viewer to confront profound emotions reflective of a unique physical moment in time that would otherwise be lost to the ages. My pieces are not just objects, I see them as anchors to what is finite making the moment infinitely more valuable.
ARTISTS INSIGHTS
My medium of choice is mixed media on archival paper, ive chosen this because I want these pieces to last. There is no shortcut here, every effort is built entirely by hand, gesture by gesture. Truthfully as we all know art is meant to be fleeting and despite our knowledge of what it should be we still go out of our way to keep it alive at every given opportunity. its why we repair fracturing gothic churches and why we fill the chalk of ancient carvings from millenia ago. humans create and protect instinctively and i think thats why as an artist have found an immense amount of peace in ensuring the mediums i use will continue on and outlive me because nothing remains forever but what remains for now will always reflect what i created in the now.

Blurred

this collection is not a destination but one of the foundational steps for my artistic blueprint. The previous projects though much smaller and much less calculated were met with such anticipation that it prompted me to Truly focus on my craft and principles.
The collectors I have interacted with along the way have inspired me so tremendously and gave me such a lasting impression. Its why ive opted to create this collective and extend a hand to those deemed worthy by current collectors. I have so many ideas and projects waiting to be brought into existance and I am so excited to share them with all of you. i have the liberty of ensuring all the capital generated through the collectors directly funds the development and production of future even more ambitious projects. These are the lovely things that in unison we get to enjoy and partake in.
my goal previously was to achieve a secure footing in the spaces I felt and still feel are heavily guarded by exclusivity. now that I have that I want to create opportunities for other emerging artists and novice to grow and expand on their own wonderful ideas and potential and perhaps eventually even offer a third space to keep the circle of creation and inspiration abundant. These however are just ideas ... for now.
The ultimate objective is for me to host a exhibition where I can showcase a collection for all those who have supported my progression as an artist. I aim to do this, so that I can speak to those who have been so gracious about the impact my work has had on them. there are many other ideas and projects blooming within me and soon I will be able to share all that with you. To those who have already reached out to me in hopes of future collaboration, I am so eager to do so, but I am also so heavily under prepared for such a feat at this moment. as i have mentioned privately, I am a novice in all this wealth, but your belief in my capability astounds me. I am so grateful for you, Thank you for being a patron to my higher purpose.
I have received so many questions in regards to the insight of my origins and state of being. For your constant support, I have decided to expand on this topic.
Truthfully, it feels fundamentally against my nature as a highly introverted and private individual to divulge these things. However the stories and comments left by so many in parallel are so overwhelmingly beautiful and kind. I had no idea when I began this journey that my art would touch the hearts of so many. I could never have guessed that this many people would reach out to me with stories, memories, and inspirations so similar to mine.
While I want to remain private, I now feel it is essential to connect and respond in unison with the many things directed to me. So, this extension to my collectors is my way of walking a fine line between privacy and clarity.
My nature is to create, in doing so I have created more than just my art. These responsibilities keep me from being able to connect with every single person who has found me. I cannot share myself with everyone. Really only God is capable of such a feat, but for those of you who are here and able to read this, know that these are peices of me.
Let me start by clarifying the most important thing: I grew up in a broken home full of love. That is what you see the most in my work. You see the imprint of my upbringing. it was raw and real, often painful, but so much of it was beautiful. It’s strange to be so young and feel that you have lived so many lives and still have so much to live.
I grew up in a relatively large family. We lived in a two-bedroom home that, by definition, was not big enough for all the life it contained. We went through intense periods of contentment and also periods of resentment, but the truth was we were all just making do. Our parents were just children having children and for it, we all lived in a parallel state of uncertainty and unknowingness.
In my 18th year, our entire family, sheltered and codependent for nearly a decade, was scattered to the ends of the earth. We found ourselves hiding wherever we could. Some of us slept in cars, others in the house across the street, others in the homes of those that would abuse us. All lost but time passed as it does, The days that followed were convoluted with a willingness to blame a God I claimed was eager to forget us, but I was too eager to forget myself.
These days, I have remembered and recognized the imprint of the creator in most things, even the purpose for my turmoil. Though I am the epitome of an imperfect being, I know He is watching over us still. I know it because I brought life into instability, doing the very thing i had often judged our parents for having done, the loss continued again and again, until we again had nothing and until ultimately i learned from it. It wasnt until i changed myself, my vision, my principles, my relationship with god, that I began to see the changes emerge around us. Now we find ourselves here, in a better place. my family worked so hard to create stability for us, and despite all of our pain, never the less we prevail.
When you are sleeping in a car with four other people, you are extremely limited. When you are sleeping in a home with someone who has a hateful heart, you are extremely limited. When you are sleeping on a bus stop between shifts in the middle of the night, you are limited. when you are broken and feel like life has robbed you, you are limited. These moments i lived boil down to the this, When you are not stable in any capacity, you are limited.
So we worked until our family could have stability. We worked until the finish line blurred and For it we were gifted so much by God.
The same God I blamed in my youth gave back everything tenfold, and this is prior to my realization that I now have the time to create. these days we find ourselves in a place of peace. this is our promised land and my work hence forward is my offering to God. planting seeds where someone lost like I was might find them. All glory belongs to him and we bear his finger print of light in a terrain that would try and convince us there is nothing left in the darkness.
when i had nothing, Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate I would have more than I had asked for. I could have never foreseen the outcome of the path behind me and even now what I foresee is a speck of dust in the tapestry of the great design. I had no idea so many people would support me so much so that I have to create often and create a barrier of entry as to not overwhelm myself. Never did I in a million years predict that my time would be so valuable, but yet it is. To those who have assured me it is, thank you indefinitely.
god changed my life, but you have changed my heart.
